Pocket Twenty Bucks from Rockin’ Baja Coastal Cantina!

Rockin' Baja Coastal Cantina

After window shopping at Bella Terra in Huntington Beach, I needed to get some grub.  Stumbled upon Rockin’ Baja Coastal Cantina.  The flyer that sealed the deal was their Movie Menu.  Cesar salad, one entrée (tacos or fajitas), their popular fried ice cream, and a Century Theater movie pass all for $19!

After whetting my appetite with their chips and salsa bar, I chowed down on a pretty large yummy bowl of Cesar salad.  I ended up getting the carnitas fajitas plate.  I couldn’t actually devour the whole thing as it was a mouth watering, hearty portion of meat, grilled onions, peppers, and toppings.  I did save enough room for their to die for fried ice cream.  I never tried it before and I wiped it out in seconds.  The meal if bought separately would have been $24.  Add in a $15 dollar movie ticket and I just made twenty buckeroos!  If you’re cruising through HB, take a detour to Rockin’ Baja Coastal Cantina!

Update: If you thought that was fun, check out Malaysia in Santa Monica!

Is there such a thing as a perfect meal?

Over the weekend, did some shopping at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.  After burning through a ton of calories between window shopping and debating whether to buy something or not, needed to take a break for dinner.  Lo and behold, could it be?  A perfect meal?  Brasserie Pascal and two other Orange County restaurants have joined forces to offer $10 entrees!  Fine dining at near fast food prices?  You can’t go wrong.  Since I love my steaks, I had to get the filet mignon.  Still don’t know how this isn’t MIG-NON.  It didn’t matter because my mouth was speechless after every tender delicious bite.  This type of meal and the ambience normally would run you five times the price.  Other mouth-watering offerings include, rack of lamb, fish, or shrimp.  In today’s economy, you can’t beat this.

McCormick & Schmick's

Tonight enjoyed a late meal courtesy of McCormick & Schmick’s famous happy hour.  Pretty good eats, for a pretty good price.  Scrumptous chicken skewers, a juicy hamburger and steak fries, delicious ahi tacos, and mouth-watering BBQ pork sliders.  Also enjoyed some Monday night football with a tall cool one.  Aaaah!  Can’t beat that.

Ok, so this might be more of a splurge than a save, but come on, who can deny these great deals at these mouth watering eateries?  Three course meals for at most $44?  On regular nights, the entree alone could creep up to that price.  I’m gonna take a crack at Ruth’s Chris myself.  MMMM, love me some steak.  By the way, what kind of name is Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse?  Check out their website and happy eating!
